I’m Going Down - Vampire Weekend
These guys need a new album so I can feel hip again.

Sadie and Andy - Princeton
Princeton is doing a free residency every Monday at Bootleg this month. Tacos at the crib beforehand for anyone who wants to go. Doors at 7:30. They go on around 10:30.
Future Pt. 1 - Voxtrox
Was listening to Voxtrox today and this song really stuck with me.
My Name Is… - Biz Markie
This is the best Biz Markie song you’ve probably never heard of.
Henny and Gingerale - Mayer Hawthorne
This is the bonus track off of Mayer Hawthorne’s newest album, How Do You Do. Spend the $8 and get this album. It’s great.
I Love Life, Thank You - Mac Miller
“They keep on saying this dude’s back, this dude’s back, but I don’t sound like this dude, bitch I’m Mac…”
Can’t C Me - Tupac
This is probably my favorite Tupac song of all time. Off All Eyez on Me, which went 9 times platinum. That’s unheard of in this time and age.
I used to rewind the second verse nonstop. Got pretty good with holding down the skip back button on my CD player. There still hasn’t been a rapper that puts that much heart and energy in a verse than Tupac. Thirteen year old Jon thought he was the toughest kid in the world when he rapped along to this.
“You niggas made a mistake, you should of never put my rhymes with Dre. Them thug niggas have arrived and it’s judgement day. Hey homie if you feel me, tell them tricks that shot me, that they missed they ain’t kill me…”
Deep, Deep Trouble - Bart Simpson
Nancy Cartwright has a better flow than most rappers out now. I’m looking at you Lil B The BasedGod.
Infinite - Eminem
I sometimes wish Eminem still rhymed like this. Not that it will ever happen, but wouldn’t it be nice?
Hump Day - J. Flint
Before Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, there was J. Flint holding it down for the Pittsburgh rap scene. Flint was the man during the slow times post Strict Flow and pre-Black and Yellow. I’ve seen this dude battle strangers outside of Antoons. I’m not sure where he’s at these days, but as one of the nicest dudes on and off the mic, I hope he’s doing well.
SIDEBAR: This is the only song of his that I could find online but I know I’ve got his EP on an old hard drive somewhere.
Murder to Excellence - Kanye West & Jay-Z
Listened to this song with good headphones and realized I was missing half the instruments.
“In the past, if you picture events like a black tie, what’s the last thing you expect to see?Black guys…” - Kanye West
Mac Miller - The Miller Family Reunion
The most dope song for my trip back east.
Jay-Z & Kanye West - Otis (Ft. Otis Redding)
Looking like wealth, I’m about to call the Paparrazi on myself.
Oh Kanye.
This song makes up for the disappointment of H.A.M.
Sorry 4 the Wait - Lil’ Wayne
Of course Lil’ Wayne apologizes for his album delay over an Adele beat. Why wouldn’t he?
Trouble on My Mind - Pusha T feat. Tyler, The Creator
I feel like I might be too old to “get with it” with Tyler the Creator. But along side Pusha T, I can get behind this guy. (No Homo!!!)
