Made a trailer this morning for Our Footloose Remake, which screens at The Downtown Independent in TWO WEEKS.
Have you heard about this? We split 1984’s Footloose into 54 scenes and handed them out to our talented video-making friends. Everyone worked together and collaborated on this weird experiment. Someone called it a “filmic Frankenstein” and that’s a pretty good estimation. It’s weird. It’s fun. It’s different. It’s ours.
Come to The Downtown Independent on July 1st if you want to check it out. I think we’ll do a few more screenings and eventually put the whole thing online. I think it’s gonna be fun.
When I first heard of this idea, one word came to mind: Genius. I said I wanted in. And after threatening to tell their girlfriends’ about the time I caught them doing weird stuff together in a hot tub, Dave and Tim let me direct a scene. Dreams do come true.
