What do you name your hard drives and flash drives?

You can really tell how big of a nerd I am by what I name my external hard drives and flash drives.

Starbug, Tardis, The Hatch, Talon

My hard drives have all had a superhero theme, sort of unintentionally, over the years.

SUPERMANS (because it was my “Return to Supermans” hard drive)

IRONMAN (because that movie just came out at the time)

CONAN (after Conan the Barbarian, because it was for “Latimus.”  But, I suppose it could also be as in Conan O’Brien.  He’s sort of superhero-ey, right? “The Molecular Maaan!”)

As for my next hard drive?  Probably this guy.

I’ve always named my drives as a sort of motivational theme in relation to the state of my career. It also probably has to do with the fact that I grew up loving Allen “The Answer” Iverson and liked badass nicknames like his.

THE HUNGER - When I was first starting out and hungry to make anything.

THE TRUTH - I was a little cocky at the time and thought all my stuff was “The Truth.” Young and naive.

THE PROCESS - When I first started getting paid to do this and understood that this was going to be a long process with ups and downs.

THE FOCUS - When things started to get real, and I had to focus on making higher quality stuff. Started making projects that were (supposed) to help my career.

THE JOURNEY - The continuing ups and downs of my career after not finding immediate success in LA. Also a portable USB drive which added a touch of irony.

Both the PROCESS and the JOURNEY died on me, which is fitting. But hitting rock bottom and losing everything is part of “the process” and the other died on me during my “journey” to Thailand, because you know, I love irony.
